Shopping at the Merchandise Mart

While shopping at the Mart this week we ran across some of our own merchandise.
Located in the Tango Showroom is a charming jewelry company called Tickled Pink.Low and behold they are using our trays on vintage posts as part of their display.
Many thanks to Anna Kate for taking the picture of our wares!Needless to say we had a fun day at the Mart.

DIY Vintage Paper Cones filled with Lavender and Hydrandeas

      

   LAVENDER AND HYDRANGEA

                        CONE

 

 

Supplies needed are vintage papers,cardstock, paper glue,floral foam,floral picks,moss,ribbon(about 1 yard),dried lavender and dried hydrangeas.Also scissors, a paper punch and glue gun.

To begin this project you need to gather vintage papers from and old book or sheet music from an old songbook work beautifully too.Glue papers to a piece cardstock and let dry.

Shape the cardstock into a cone (you can cut out the shape also)glue and let dry.
Take small amounts of lavender and wrap around floral picks.(I use a pick machine)Insert into foam until you have desired amount in center of the cone.
Punch holes on either side of the cone and tie ribbon to desired length to make a hanger.(I use about a yard,give or take a little) Hot glue hydrangeas around outside edge of cone and let dry.

 

Hang and enjoy.These lavender cones are wonderful for weddings,showers or any special event.Hang off arbors or on back of chairs.Enjoy!!!

Happy Easter

Our springtime nest has been quite a hit for Easter this year.
Handcrafted in our studio using hydrangas from our gardens that we dried. Then added french lavender,pink larkspur,ammobium,oregano and salal leaves.
All you need is to add candy eggs.Enjoy Easter.

While being at home for a short time I picked up some of these paintbrushes...

and painted.

and  one more.

Spring Cleaning DIY

It's time to start cleaning out the cupboards and getting the house all fluffed up and ready for spring.If you're like me you tend to "store"all kinds of necessities for future use.(I might need these someday.)Well instead of getting all frustrated and hauling it to the thrift store gather your glassware together(you know all those old bud bases,missed matched wine glasses and plates you'll never use in a million years).Grab some E-6000 glue and we'll start an easy and fun project for spring.

I took a couple of plates some kind of flowery dish an old bud vase and some crystals off an old lamp.Glue every thing together with your E-6000 glue and let dry according to directions.

 

Supplies you will need:

Glassware

E-6000 glue

wire (Optional)

beads,jewelry or crystals etc.

This glassware piece can either sit on a table or hang in my garden because I wired the flower vase with a handle.
 

I added some bling with a crystal,but you can add beads or glue on old jewelry pieces or add ribbons etc.(Keep cleaning out the cupboards)

Add flowers or a candle and enjoy inside or hang it outside in the garden.Perfect for a garden party or a bridal shower.Easy and fun...Enjoy Spring...

Country Living Fair South 2011

We can't begin to thank everyone who helped make this show such a success.Your support was tremendous as you came out in groves!!!We are practically sold out and I'm wondering what I will do for the Christmas shows that are coming up.Thank you all again for such a fun show!!!Here are some pictures that I took before the show started.

This was the entrance to our booth made out of old windows,banisters and old architectural elements.

Same elements used for our wrap stand.Along with old siding used for the counter.They both have been sold and now have new homes.

Some of our fall items.The burlap pumpkins with flowers sold out in the first couple of hours.Sorry I didn't make more of them.

Christmas decorations designed from girls taken out of victorian catalogs,ornaments and tinsel.
